Iditarod

(photo from ADN)

Since we are in Anchorage today we are going to go to the Iditarod.  When we lived in Wyoming I fell in love with these dogs and the love continues here in Alaska.  This year I have been searching the participants for a team that I want to win.  It is never fun just to watch, you should be cheering someone on.  Last year, I wanted John Baker, a Kotzebue local to win and that he did.  This year he is racing again but I think it is boring for the same person to win again so I want to cheer for someone new.

I have decided to cheer for these two, Kristy and Anna Berington, twins from Kasilof, AK.  I was watching an interview and they said, "It has never been about the race but about the dogs."  They won me there.

So, today I will be carrying my point and shoot G12 to see if I can't capture something to share with you later.  I will have my iPhone and will post on Flickr and Instagram today.  I will be out next week for the most part but after I recover I will post my shots of the race.
