This weekend is not full of weekend warrior projects for me, I kind of wished it would. I am loving all my fall projects. I have a stack of books to read, I am helping a friend with her kids, and I have to stock my cupboards. After seeing this photo above I am thinking I may shoot some blurry shots this weekend....sounds like fun!
Today we are ambushing Amelia Kay Photography. We are fave-ing her photos on flickr. Commenting on her blog. Buying prints from her shop or just heart-ing the items we love.
Join us in making Amelia the Queen for today!
If you are a female photographer selling on Etsy check out our page and see if you are interested in joining.
If you take a stroll through Minato's stream you get a sense that all her shots are happy accidents. She shoots everyday items and they come out looking like works of art. She makes it look so simple and effortless.
I was watching one of my favorite movies last night Love Letters with Kate Capshaw. She is a book store owner and everyday she walks into her cute little shop and writes a new quote on her chalkboard that sits on the counter. I always pause the dvd and read every quote.
I am drawn to chalkboards like a little child. Remember the feeling of walking into your first classroom and seeing those big blank canvases, well some of you may be too young to remember chalkboards in classrooms, it was before the big white board movement. Well anyhow I always feel like a little child when I see them, that same excitement still exists inside me.
A lot of people decorate with chalkboards, including me. I have four large chalkboards in my house. This one is above my bed.
We write all kinds of crazy things on them. This one we are usually writing clusters on.
I use one as a background for some of my photos.
Lately I have been seeing all kinds of chalkboard ideas. And now with chalkboard paint you can turn anything into a chalkboard. Martha Stewart even has a recipe to make your own paint, any color you like.
I have a gallery of them on flickr and a ideabook on houzz . I also thought I would share my chalkboards with you.
And if this is not enough here is more, more, and even more ideas.
There are a group of ladies putting together a book of female photographers and it is organized by color. I loved the idea and I am thinking about doing one myself. I thought it would be a good gift for Christmas. I am not sure how I will organize it but for now I am going to choose my faves by color.
Have any of you made a book of your photography? Any suggestions? And...what is your favorite shot from this selection?
